About Us:

The Grow Group is a purpose-driven nonprofit focused on job placement and workforce development for people with disabilities. For the past 15 years, we’ve proudly helped thousands of individuals across the greater Tampa Bay area find meaningful, fulfilling careers. Our team is as diverse as the communities we serve — full of passionate, upbeat, and incredibly supportive people who lift each other up and love what we do. Qualifications:

Please Do Not Apply if you do not meet the below requirements:

  • Experience as an employment specialist, job coach, or career counselor AND you meet Option 1 or Option 2:

    • Option 1: High school diploma and a minimum of four years of experience working with individuals with disabilities

    • Option 2: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, education, HR, business, economics, etc.) and one year of working with people with disabilities

  • Clean driving record and access to reliable, safe transportation

  • Able to pass a Level II background check and drug screening

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in sales, hospitality, customer service, or social services

  • Experience with software programs such as: AWARE, SignNow, and Barracuda Emailing

  • Experience with Business Development, Recruitment, and/or Workforce Development

  • Experienced with Google Workspace – Google Drive, GMail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc. or Microsoft – 

Responsibilities:


  • Ability to meet clients in-person on a weekly basis at the office and/or in the community at libraries, local coffee shops, and other community locations.

  • Assist individuals with disabilities in securing and maintaining employment through individualized support and guidance. (ie. job applications, resumes, interview practice, etc.)

  • Conduct interviews and assessments to understand client needs and capabilities.

  • Facilitate and teach the organization’s existing training classes to help clients enhance job readiness and develop essential employment skills.

  • Collaborate with community organizations and build/develop relationships to promote workforce development initiatives.

  • Provide support at a worksite, identify accommodations, and assist with maintaining employment

  • Provide mentorship and coaching to clients, fostering personal and professional growth.

  • This role will serve both Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.

As an Employment Specialist, you’ll be the bridge between individuals seeking employment and the opportunities that can change their lives. You’ll meet regularly with clients in person — whether at their workplace, a local coffee shop, a library, or out in the community — helping them prepare for, secure, and thrive in their jobs. You’ll also connect with employers, families, and state agency partners to ensure each person we support is set up for long-term success. Your days will be filled with meeting with clients, job site visits, and creative problem-solving — all while working alongside a team that truly cares. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the go and creating impact through relationships
